With the regular season winding down, the Coastal Division title is still up for grabs. Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Georgia Tech are all in contention, with the Cavaliers holding a slim edge.
Virginia (6-5, 4-3 Coastal) must win its remaining game against rival Virginia Tech to secure the division. Pittsburgh (6-5, 3-4 Coastal) needs to defeat both Virginia Tech and Clemson to reach the title game. Georgia Tech (5-6, 3-4 Coastal) has the longest shot, requiring wins over Duke and Georgia, as well as a Virginia loss.
North Carolina clinched the Atlantic Division title last weekend with a win over Wake Forest. The Tar Heels (9-2, 6-1 Atlantic) will host the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte on December 2.
Depending on the results in the Coastal Division, the ACC Championship Game could feature the following matchups:
“Virginia has the inside track, but Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech are still in the mix,” said ACC Network analyst Mark Packer. “It’s going to be a wild race to the finish.”
As the regular season concludes, the ACC Championship Game scenarios will become clearer. The stakes are high as teams vie for a chance to represent the conference in the College Football Playoff.
